In the Fruita Branch of the Mesa County Library in Fruita, Colorado, I displayed eight oil paintings titled SKIES AND MYSTERY IN THE WEST. These are landscape paintings exploring relationships of earth and sky that have been painted over the last eight years or so. They are a result of travels primarily in the Big Bend of Texas.
The paintings include Asparagus, the Moon, and the Marfa Lights, a shaped canvas that has the elements of mystery that show up in places like Marfa, Texas. Time and space are bent and the sky sends up its own energy. This exhibit was up during the summer of 2006.
